October 5: Are you editing yourself out of your own love story?

Last week, someone said this to me in their Big Ask session:

"I've never had a group of friends where I felt I could be totally authentic. I'd like to try that out."

Pardon my French...

F*CK YEAH!

That is exactly what I hope for every single person, and most especially my clients.

You don't need a smoother opener or a more impressive version of yourself.

I want you showing up as yourself, and finding the people who are attracted to exactly that.

The one who prefers a phone call to a text.

The one who is looking for marriage and a lifelong commitment.

The one who is a little nerdy, or goofy, or shy, or serious, or... or... or...

Most of us were taught to lead with our fantaself.

That's the "best foot forward" (times ten) version of you, with endless kindness, boundless energy for social events, and an outfit that proudly states "I left the house today."

It feels safer.

It even works, for a little while.

But anyone who falls for your fantaself fell for someone who doesn't exist.

Now you have to keep performing that person on dates, with friends, with play partners, across your whole social world.

Connection turns into an exhausting one-person show.

Some of you... SOME of you... okay, a LOT of you have spent so long molding yourselves into people-pleasing shapes that you honestly don't know what you want anymore.

Or what "showing up as yourself" would even look like.

You learned that habit because it kept you safe once.

Habits can be unlearned.

So hear me on this:

Quit editing out pieces of yourself while trying to write your love story.

That will never work.

The people who would adore the real you can't find you while you're hiding.

Show up as the person you actually are, and let the people who want that find you.

For dating and love, yes.

Also for kinky play, for friendship, for companionship.

For that group where you finally get to exhale.

If you'd like to try that out, let's talk.

Book your free 15-minute Big Ask consultation and tell me which pieces of yourself you've been editing out.

We'll get clear on what you actually want and what showing up unedited could look like for you.

No script required.

P.S. I'm curious: what's one piece of yourself you tend to edit out when you meet new people?

Hit reply and tell me. The nerdier, the goofier, the better.
