May 20: A comedian just said what I've been telling you for years.
I follow Ali Saddiq because he makes me laugh.
And because he makes me think. Sometimes even cry.
This man went to jail, came out, and built a life that's genuinely his.
(Also: he's 5'7". King behavior.)
This morning I watched a clip of him on The Daily Show with Josh Johnson, and I had to pause it. Rewind it. Play it again.
He said:
"In your life you're going to have to custom fit your friend circle and your business circle to what you're trying to do. You can't take everybody with you and some people are going to fall off along the way. I want to be a benefit to the people that I'm around and I want the people that surround me to be a benefit to me." [source]
BAM.
Thassit.
That's what I've been saying for years.
That's the whole thing.
That's the entire philosophy I've built my work around, dressed up in a comedian's (Gucci) blazer and delivered with perfect timing.
BEST-fit relationships.
Not "settle for what you can get" relationships.
Not "I guess this is fine" relationships.
Not "I'm afraid to be alone so I'll tolerate this" relationships.
BEST-fit.
The ones where you're actually a benefit to each other. Where you don't have to shrink, perform, or beg. Where you get to just... be you, and that's the draw.
That applies to romantic partners, friends, colleagues, business circles.
All of it.
Not everyone is going with you.
And the sooner you make peace with that, the faster you find the people who actually belong in your life.
Keeping it short today.
Just wanted to share this and maybe spark something for you.
If you're wondering what your BEST-fit relationships could actually look like (and whether you're currently building toward them or away from them), that's exactly the kind of thing we dig into in a free 15-minute Big Ask call with me.
No sales pressure. Just a real conversation.

P.S. Who have you let fall off along the way, and how did that change things for you? Or who do you know needs to fall off but you haven't let them yet?
Hit reply. I want to hear it.
