May 13: Why aren't you doing the things you say you want?
Your life is mostly made up of your choices. Mostly.
My mother died of aggressive breast cancer at 42.
I was 23.
I couldn't have controlled that, and I've spent most of my adult life without her.
However, when I found out I was BRCA-1 positive, I made choices.
I took steps.
I broke my nose at 4 years old jumping off a bed I definitely wasn't supposed to be jumping on.
Hit the side table on the way down.
Was it an accident? Sure.
Would it have happened if I'd been a good girl?
Also sure. (LOL.)
Kids have accidents, and it wasn’t really a choice at that age.
Sometimes things just happen to us.
Of course, not everything is under your control.
Your choices are.
The big ones, the tiny ones, the ones you make every single day on autopilot, running on pre-installed beliefs you've never once questioned.
I saw a post in a FB group this morning.
Someone asked:
"Why is it so difficult to find a retired [person] who wants friendship and companionship only, doesn't want to get married, doesn't want to live under the same roof... and can dance, likes live bands, loves the water, enjoys exploring small towns?"
(Posted to a group that was, by the way, not designed for that. Also a choice.)
My reply:
I imagine that person is out dancing. Going to live bands. Playing in the water. Exploring small towns with their friends. Why aren't you?
When someone asks a question like that, it tells me their life doesn't have the foundations they're looking for.
If it did, they'd know the answer.
I know people like this because I am this person, and I've spent years cultivating people like this for my life.
Intentionally.
On purpose.
As a practice.
Yes, it takes time.
But if you're really that person?
The time will feel natural. Enjoyable.
And you'll find your people along the way.
So here's my question for you today:
What choices do you need to make to actually get what you want from your love life, your sex life, your relationships, your kink?
Not someday.
Not when everything lines up perfectly.
Now.
If you're not sure where to start, that's exactly what the Big Ask is for.
It's a free 15-minute conversation where we figure out what's actually in the way and what choices might change everything.
